Morning cuppa tea for soul....

Got up this morning and noticed a friend just sent me a message with an interesting quote on it:

Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers...

I knew I've seen this quote before and couldn't remember where I read this on....hmmm.... maybe from a book or somewhere else....

Today is Saturday...hmmm what should I do today ...reading a book? hanging out with friends? watch a movie? help others? hmmm....interesting quote to start a beautiful saturday....

Getting a good reading....

Thanks to my good friend Eric X who gave me a very good e-book to read, it's become clearer for me now on how to see and do things in a more efficient & correct ways in the future....

The e-book called " Getting Things Done - The Art of Stress-free productivity" by David Allen.

At first, I have to be honest I was being a bit sceptical about it; especially when I read the title... it seemed so 'usual'...nothing special about it. But then after I got in to it I then realized that it's not just 'another' book that teach on productivity. On this e-book, the author tries to show us, the reader, on all small things that we actually already knew of and happened around us, but hey guess what....sometimes we missed the importance of these small things or didn't even realize about it.
Funny, I thought I've been careful enough in managing my tasks and time.....it's all changed now...haha

Well, I haven't finished reading it, but so far, the impression that I got from the book is that it really touches some of the basic principles of how you, us, me, manage our tasks and time in our life....Sometimes we realized that too many tasks or pieces on our head really gave us a headache....a headache that actually for small things that not even worth to think of... rubbish that occupied our head and kept reminding us all the time; thus adding our stress level higher than before. Well, it happened to me before, especially at work, but hey, it's better late to know than never, right :)

The book also tells you on how to differentiate things, either it is important or not....either it is a piece of information that we (may) need for our work or life, or just a rubbish that need to be thrown away, and many other.... The details is soo deep that you actually can visualise yourself based on the sample situations that the author gave; giving you simple and direct methodology that actually very powerful in today's world.

Oh, by the way, there is actually a software (read: helping tool) that actually helps you in executing this new method......Cool!

The software is called Life Balance. It actually helps you managing your priorities and tasks based on the importance and 'cruciality' of the task itself. It really runs in parallel with the method taught on the book. At the end, the goal is to get a balanced pie of our overall tasks and time...making sure between our work, family, life, etc are each in balance....
You can even synchronize between your PC and your Palm device..... Very cool indeed.....
Another reason why I have to 'resurrect' my Sony Clie now..... :D
OMG.....it's still working after these years in hibernation...haha

After several weeks trying this method and backed by the use of my 'come to life' Clie...hey, it feels good... I can live with this... :)

I'm beginning to take control of every single details of my live without forgetting and missing any of them; I even managed to throw all the 'junks' away from my head, giving me a more relax-feeling without forgetting the awareness of the surrounding situation.... A very simple solution that works for me who used to have multiple tasks and a full mind thinking of job, life, etc...

I definitely will keep this method for now...or at least until I finally find another method that I think is better than this one.... I'm starting to get into the details now on the chapter, and it's getting more interesting over the time....

So yeah.... for those who actually want to change their productivity or task management, I really recommend this book to read....

Dunno why I actually put this on my blog... but I thought this is something that I want to remember in the future... the moment where I decide to change one single piece of detail of my life and become more efficient and effective on whatever I do... :)

P.S:
Really can't wait to go home now....can't wait to see my family...girlfriend....and of course...having a good holiday...

We can never really be prepared for that which is wholly new. We have to adjust ourselves, and every radical adjustment is a crisis in self esteem.
It needs subordinate self-confidence to face drastic change without inner trembling.

I have been thinking about what to say to you
And have been thinking about all the things that we've both been through
You were my work mate and my very good friend
And I know you'll always be there
When times are though you're always there
It shows me just how much you care

Although we're going separate ways
You're in our hearts forever to stay
Everyone can see
How special a friend you are to me
Nothing else could ever fulfill
Everything your friendship will

A friend like you is hard to find
You put all the problems behind
The best times were the ones we shared

We've been together through good and bad
You made me smile and laugh
And no one else could ever replace you
As good of a friend you are to me

Our time working together is now over
But now until the very end
You'll always be my dear and loving friend.
